Get pinged the moment a brand you've never tracked shows up recommended in your prompts — before they become the default answer.

Who this is for

Anyone in a category where new entrants launch often (SaaS, agencies, DTC). Competitor tracking usually starts after you've already lost ground.

The problem

RankAhead tracks the competitors you know about. It doesn't tell you when a name that's never appeared before starts getting recommended — and by the time you notice organically, they've had weeks of head start.

What you need

The exact prompt

Every Monday, using the RankAhead MCP:
1. Call list_prompts and get_gaps for [YOUR DOMAIN].
2. Extract every competitor/brand name mentioned across all prompt results this week.
3. Compare against this list of known competitors: [PASTE YOUR CURRENT LIST].
4. Flag any name that appears in results but ISN'T on the known list — that's a new entrant.
5. For each new name: which prompt(s), which engine(s), how many mentions.
6. Post to Slack #competitive-intel. If nothing new, just say "No new entrants this week."

Why it matters

Category queries are open ground. A well-cited startup launch or a rebrand can show up recommended within days. This catches it in week one, not month three.

RankAhead tracks every prompt daily across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity — this workflow just teaches Claude to watch for names that shouldn't be there yet.
